Town Lake Metro Park Seaholm Intake Facility Phase I
This project is the Phase 1 Renovation of the iconic 1950’s Seaholm Intake facility. This phase will make the existing intake structure habitable for public use with seamless integration into the trail system as a future phase. This project is the Phase 1 Renovation of the iconic 1950’s Seaholm Intake facility. The Seaholm Intake facility consists of (2) two-story concrete buildings (A.1/A.2 and B) that served as the pump house for the Seaholm Power Plant*. A small CMU building is also on the site, north of Buildings A and B, that was built in the ~1980’s (Building C). The facility lies south of Cesar Chavez, along the Lady Bird Lake shoreline, within designated parkland. There has been considerable interest from the City of Austin and the community to adaptively reuse these concrete buildings. Note that Building B and C are not part of the structural scope**. (**This office may provide one (1) detail for slab cutting and patching to accommodate new plumbing for bathroom for Building C). Seaholm Intake Facility Night Photo by Christina Bies.
